Bridgestone’s new Potenza Sport EVO has officially arrived in Australia, introducing the brand’s latest generation of ultra-high-performance tyre technology to local motorists. Building on the success of the Potenza Sport, the new flagship tyre combines ENLITEN Technology with improvements in wet braking, tread life, rolling resistance and steering precision. It also arrives with impressive credentials, having already been crowned the winner of sport auto’s prestigious 2026 Summer Tyre Test just months after its global launch.
A New Generation of Potenza Performance
First launched globally in January 2026, the Potenza Sport EVO builds on the success of the award-winning Potenza Sport by delivering improvements across the areas that matter most to performance drivers.
Developed using Bridgestone’s ENLITEN Technology, the new tyre has been engineered to provide outstanding levels of dry handling and steering precision while improving wet braking, reducing rolling resistance and increasing tread life. The result is a tyre designed to meet the demands of today’s diverse performance vehicle market, whether powered by petrol, hybrid or fully electric drivetrains.
Bridgestone ENLITEN is an innovative, sustainability-focused tyre technology designed to reduce rolling resistance by up to 20% and tyre weight by 10%. This will result in improvements in vehicle fuel efficiency or EV range without sacrificing wear life, grip, or safety.
According to Bridgestone, the Potenza Sport EVO delivers up to 15 per cent greater mileage than its predecessor while maintaining the sharp handling characteristics expected from the Potenza name.
Independent Test Winner
The Potenza Sport EVO has already received independent recognition shortly after its global launch, taking outright honours in sport auto’s 2026 Summer Tyre Test. The test used the size 205/45R17 on a Mazda MX-5, comparing seven tyres across dry, wet, comfort and efficiency categories.
The respected German performance publication awarded Bridgestone’s newest flagship tyre the comparison’s only “Outstanding” rating, describing it as its “clear number one” after evaluating its performance across wet and dry handling, braking, steering precision and overall driving confidence. While Bridgestone was reported as the overall test winner, the detailed results are worth noting.
The Potenza Sport EVO finished with the highest overall score of 9.2 and was the only tyre rated “Outstanding”. It ranked 2nd in dry braking, equal 1st in dry handling, equal 1st in subjective dry handling, 3rd in wet braking, 1st in wet handling, 1st in subjective wet handling and 1st in wet circle grip.
The result was not a clean sweep. The Bridgestone finished 3rd in curved aquaplaning, 4th in rolling resistance, and lower in comfort-related areas, ranking 6th for subjective comfort and 6th for noise. This makes the result more credible rather than less: the Potenza Sport EVO won because it delivered the strongest overall performance balance, particularly in wet handling and driver confidence, rather than dominating every individual category.
Designed for Modern Performance Vehicles
Unlike traditional ultra-high-performance tyres developed primarily for sports cars, the Potenza Sport EVO has been engineered to suit a broad range of modern vehicles, including:
- Premium sports cars
- Performance sedans
- High-performance SUVs
- Electric performance vehicles
Bridgestone says ENLITEN Technology enables the tyre to balance grip, efficiency and durability without compromising driving dynamics, helping manufacturers meet increasingly demanding performance and sustainability targets.
The tyre is also expected to feature prominently in future original equipment fitments, continuing Bridgestone’s strong relationships with premium manufacturers including Porsche, Lamborghini and Maserati.
Australian Availability
Bridgestone has already published the initial Potenza Sport EVO size range, allowing Australian motorists to determine whether the tyre is available for their vehicle. With fitments covering many of today’s most popular performance cars and SUVs, the new tyre is expected to progressively replace the existing Potenza Sport across selected applications.

Pricing is available through Bridgestone Select stores, authorised Bridgestone dealers and other local tyre retailers, with availability varying depending on size and distributor stock.
For Australian enthusiasts looking for Bridgestone’s latest generation of ultra-high-performance tyre technology, the Potenza Sport EVO represents a worthwhile consideration considering how low key the local launch was when compared to the new Adrenalin RE005 launch earlier in 2026.
